No more Art Wing

As odd as it sounds, demolition is almost wrapping up.
Most of "A" building has come down, and it won't be very long
before the rest of the old gym comes down too.
The tower is still standing, although I've heard that
it might come down sometime over vacation...
I'll post when I've got the details.  That will warrant photos and video.

I think I'm sticking with this new gallery format,
powered by Google's Picasa (hence the little logo in the top corner.)
This format allows captions, which show up in the little text line
that pops up if you hold the mouse still over a photo for a few seconds.
Captions also appear above the large versions of the photographs.
I didn't caption each photograph, so if no caption shows up,
look for a similar photo, and it probably has the caption information.

The Tower Stands ...... Alone........

At this point, the only remaining section of the front wing of
"A" Building is...well.....shown below.  The only things left are the tower,
now standing completely alone, the old gym, and part of the art wing.

What you are looking at right now used to be the athletic office.
You are standing in the back of the old school, looking towards Oakland Road.
On  the left is the old gym, the tower is standing alone off on the right.

Demolition after the Snow
2 21 2007

An overview of the demolition of the band room, cafeteria, and commons.
At this point, everything but the main wing of the old building, parallel to
Oakland Road, has been demolished.  The Tower still stands....for now.

Demolition of the Boiler Room
2 20 07

Demolition begins on the boiler room, next to the art wing.
This was the only section of the art wing demolished during
vacation, because it is so close to the new building,
and required the road to be blocked off
for the better part of a day.
 Further demolition
will probably use the cleared space

to sort out usable and recyclable materials.
